No Stop Sign
HikingOut and Pippin- I just read some of your communication with LostandTorn. And I really just want to thank you both as a fellow human (and as a brother in the Lord I trust) for caring and taking the time to speak into people's lives ....in an effort to help them. So precious....
In a day when so many seem aloof and self centered ...you two uplift my heart that there are caring and deeply thoughtful ones out there. I thank God that He has brought you to the light ....and made your to be lights for others. ❤️🙏

Thank you Woodthrush2, that is very kind. I don’t try to help people for the recognition, but it is heartwarming when someone else says "I see what you do and it is good." Thank you!

I know you don't do it for recognition....you do it because you care. Because you have empathy. Because God has taken something bad in your life and is transforming it and using it for good in other lives. Keep on and be blessed. 😁

I hadn’t thought about it this way but I believe you may be right. I keep saying I will step away. I do still learn things here but not at the rate I used to. My own home, marriage and mind are now calm the biggest majority of the time. It seems like there is someone I always want to come back and check on. So you just may be right. I think giving back is part of it too. When I was so lost the people of this forum helped guide me back to reality.

May He guide you Sister. There may be a day where it is time for you to "retire" from your service here. Just know you have done much good. Keep loving your husband radically. Peace. 🙏

HikingOut, this is a core Christian belief:
Because God has taken something bad in your life and is transforming it and using it for good in other lives.
Maia used to tell me this all the time, and would say, "If you are having a hard time believing it, remember the cross." I find it incredibly hopeful and helpful.
WoodThrush2, I mentioned this because HikingOut's concept of deity is, I think, not specifically Christian. Isn't it wonderful that our creator speaks to us in ways that make sense to each person, when we call out to them? And can work through our lives to help others. I think of her and her posts in General whenever I recite the beatitudes - blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the children of God.

That’s lovely, pippin.
I do read Bible verses and study various theology including Christianity. My perception of God is the personal relationship I have - the divine knowledge that is spoken to me in my quiet time or when I am being mindful in my tasks. I believe everything all at once sort of because the similarities are there. I started to watch the classic Cinderella the other day, and found that even some of those older movies really reinforced the spiritual teachings that are almost universal for those of us who have gone through some sort of recovery.
That was my usual long winded way of saying, I don’t mind if someone speaks to me from their Christian point of view. I think my POV is similiar enough that I get reinforcement from those exchanges. I am just not religious when it comes to going to a church or having a denomination. I have been led by God to believe in him and see his protection and gifts every single day.
One thing off topic- I wondered if you moved and are you liking it better than you expected? I saw a quite the other day that made me think of you: when one door closes another will open but those hall are a b*!th!
